When Hezekiah, a young twenty-something prayed this prayer, the King of the Universe moved to support him. Read the story in II Kings 18-19.
Why not start your year with a request to the King of The Universe? Write Him a letter. He’s more reliable than Santa, stronger than Superman, wiser than Gandalf and has an army you can’t fathom.
Have a great 2014!
II Kings 19:19 NKJV Now therefore, O Lord our God, I pray, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You are the Lord God, You alone.”

Meet Jesus : Committed
Matthew 5: 31 “Furthermore it has been said, ‘Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.’ 32 But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife for any reason except sexual immorality causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a woman who is divorced commits adultery.
On first read, these verses look like they are about marital breakup. Yes, they are. And they are about more than that. They are about commitment. Connecting with Jesus is about connecting with commitment. This is the man, who sought out Peter after being horribly betrayed. This is the God, who found over 500 after going through a beating and violent death with less than five at the bottom of the cross. This is the friend, who will never leave us or forsake us.
What challenge does that give us in relationships?
ACT! Take time to invest in a relationship. Build instead of break. Boost instead of loose.
PRAY! Father, my hope is in You. Always, we are challenged to keep active our relationships. Teach us to manage the few You give to us. You manage millions of relationships. Teach us to stay faithful as You stay faithful.. Thank You for being the One that is faithful even when we are not. We need that.
Work of Faith, Labor of Love, Patience of Hope
1 Thessalonians 1:3 remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father.
Morning greets with wafting noise and odors of coffee and sausage. Before me is a grand day of training and planning and prayer.
What will you do today, Father?
While I am working and busy, will You be changing lives and bringing success to my door? Of course You will. It is Your nature.
While I am praying and listening, will You be speaking kind words to those from whom I need favor and action? Of course You will. It is Your nature.
While I am planning and consulting, will you be dispatching angels to pave and protect the path of provision? Of course You will. It is Your nature.
Father, guard the work of faith. Honor my actions. Enable them and anoint them to accomplish ten times what I can do.
Father, embrace the labor of love. Let it touch hearts with Your heart. Expose Yourself through me and let others see You.
Father, honor the patience of hope. Open the eyes of my understanding. Cause vision to congeal and give substance to faith’s grasp.
Este dia en tus manos, Padre Dios.
Even the poor. Even the rich
There is a scripture, which I think of sometimes. “He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”
I consider what people suggest life is about. I consider too how even those with all the ingredients for happiness: A family, job security and a place to call home, can then be struck with depression or ill health and so I wonder how then can someone truly be at peace, and if they can, where would they find it?

In the morning oft is mourning
Grey thoughts in dark nights build webs of delusion
Fear clouds clarity and wisdom seems far.

In the morning fresh opportunity grabs mental fog.
Beauty blows back ashes.

SOLUM Community Transformation Initiative

- Loaded to help
In the last few weeks our state and local community have suffered unspeakable loss. After the May 20 tornado hit Moore, my husband and I both leapt into action, each according to our own talents. We talked openly about our activities in the presence of our 3-year-old daughter, but not always WITH her specifically. Several days after the storm the inevitable day came that we were running errands in Moore, our hometown, and we drove by our beloved Veteran’s Park.
Since infancy, this park has been the favorite destination for countless play-dates and snow cone treats, and it was the last place of devastation I wanted our daughter to witness. I wanted to shield her from this ugliness, so unrecognizable I held out hope that she might not realize where we were. Not so! She first clarified that this was indeed “her” park, and that it was…

Powerful Healing: Glad Heart
Psalm 16:9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices;
my flesh also dwells secure. ESV
That’s why my heart celebrates and my mood is joyous;
yes, my whole body will rest in safety CEV
Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will rest secure NIV
Every so often, you will find a verse in the original language that defies exact matching translation from different eras and interpretive groups. This one fits that description. Many times, it is because an idiomatic phrase is contained or there is such emotion and expression, it is hard to put into a single phrase. So let me expand this one.
My heart is glad and celebrates in great joy. With my whole being inside and out, I am excited and alive; my tongue must shout and declare this joy. It cannot be contained or restrained. A great sense of peace and restfulness and security envelops my body and mind and spirit. Phil’s version
Rested Health
Now, that is a picture of great health and well being. That is a picture of restful trust in God and God alone. That is a picture of one that has wrestled with God and found Him to be more interested in securing our hearts that controlling our actions. That is a picture of one, who has encountered fierce angers and pains and problems and illness and has come through to a new realization that the presence and leading of the Father brings us to refreshing and rest. That is a wonderful picture.
Entering In
Entering in to health many times is preceded by great struggle and pain. Our habits become acclimated to the struggle. Our daily routines become expectant of the pain. A friend going through back surgery shared some of her story. The doctors instructed her that ghost pain would continue for some time. Though the surgery is successful and removes even some nerve endings, our minds are trained to find pain at times of day and particular motions. The pain is not there physiologically. Yet, the pain is there in our minds. The conditioning of ill health forms a barrier even when we are healed to enjoying the new freedom.
Breaking Conditional Barriers
In my own experience, I find it difficult to rest after an intense time of development of a business thrust or a strained season with a client. Though the situation is ended and the issues are resolved, my daily expectation of another problem wrestles with my restfulness. A wise executive once commented to me, “Even when we receive a new and different and positive answer, we hear the old negative one that is so common.” He did not say it just like that, but you get the point.
There must be a time of “glory rejoicing” to break the conditional barriers of ill health and negative situations. Celebrate. This unspeakable joy works internally for us to remove scar tissues and sensitive nerves of mind and will and emotion and body. Then we can receive the new and positive situation and answer. This transition must happen. It is a barrier breaker.
Returns at Customer Service
Discount retailers dedicate a large area for returned and damaged merchandise. It is not a happy place. There is not a lot of smiling for anyone. When you find a smiling employee working that area, your frustration is defused at having to come back to the store. The transaction becomes more pleasant. That employee is giving a rejoicing to a healing situation. The item is broken. You are receiving a replacement. That should be joyful. Yet, you lost value when you tried to use it at home and it broke. You lost positive expectation and trust. Now, the item and positive expectation must return before you can get full value.
Broken bones and aching hearts and rent emotions and lingering illness in our body cause us to lose positive expectation and trust in God. We expect nothing. Worse than that, we expect bad. We expect anger and frustration and continuance of a wrong situation. And we get what we expect until we expectantly express ourselves into a different result after the new answer of health and healing and restoration and replacement is received.
Prayer:
Father, there is a great life available through You and Your presence and Your word.
You are life.
You are healing.
You are “Yes” to all Your promises.
You are “Amen” to all Your commitments.
Cause rejoicing to resound in the camp of my heart. Let me release the joy of the moment that heals and conditions me to hear, “Yes, you are healed.”
Walk with me today, Father, as You heal negative expectation built on real experience with tough living. Let joys restore a new hearing and receptivity to my full health.
Powerful Healing : Establishing the Presence of God
Psalm 16: 5-11 NKJV
O Lord, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup;
You maintain my lot.
The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places;
Yes, I have a good inheritance.
I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel;
My heart also instructs me in the night seasons.
I have set the Lord always before me;
Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices;
My flesh also will rest in hope.
For You will not leave my soul in Sheol,
Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.
You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore
Every man and woman awake on our planet has the opportunity to walk in the presence of God and live in the fullness of joy. He offers Himself freely and with no walls of separation. The altar of God is open for us. In His presence there is fullness of joy. In His presence there is fullness of peace. In His presence is life and life more abundant than we can imagine. In His presence is healing and restoration for mental strength, emotional comfort, physical wholeness, spiritual power, and relational unity.
In Psalm 16, the psalmist describes a great and balanced life before God and man. It is full of hope, faith, provision, joy, life, gladness, restoration, pleasure, and the presence of God. Wow. Who would not want that? Over the next few sessions, I’ll take these verses apart in regards to healing.
What is healing? Healing is the full establishment of body, soul, spirit, and relationships to the point of design. Whatever has taken a portion of our wholeness away from the center point of destined design by the crafted love of God is not health. Whenever we wander of our own volition into wrong decisions that harm any portion of our lives, we are not in health. Push from the enemy of our soul to disturb us with disease, discomfort, disenchantment, discouragement, or drain on endurance takes us away from full health. Interaction with the world and people can result in strife and discord in relationship and take us away from wholesome health.
Healing is a normal process of taking us in any and all areas to God’s place of destined design and balance for us.
Healing is also a supernatural process of allowing God to reach through our pains and problems and restore us with the same power that He raised Christ from the dead.
Whether reached with normal process or supernatural process, we want to be healed, right? We want to be at the place of destined and created balance. For the balanced and healthy Believer health is daily maintained by living in the presence and instruction of God and supernaturally and daily restored by the same. Life happens. It interrupts wholesome healthy living. God has made provision.
Healing is the real experience of walking with God that was originally designed for mankind. Adam and Eve lived in that place where disease and curse and pain was absent. They walked with God. Enoch walked with God. Moses walked with God. Elijah walked with God. They moved in and out. Jesus walks with God. He never moved out. We have opportunity to live in Jesus. In Jesus, we can walk with God. He sent His Holy Spirit to live in us and through us and never leave us. He is available.
Prayer: Father, it is evident by Your history with us and Your words to us that You are committed to health and healing. You are the Creator of Life and the Lover of Mankind. You are the God of Healing as You reveal Yourself to us throughout Your history before Christ became man with Israel and through Christ, both God and man, to all mankind. You are committed to healing through establishing means of dispensing Your healing and restorative grace in prayer through men cooperating with You.
Be a healer to me and to my friends today, Father. Our world is tumultuous. It is out of balance. We need You. We need You to be with us. Walk with us. Talk with us. Bring us into balance in all areas of our life that we might give the praise and honor and glory back to you.
